The SAFF Championship 2013 is going on full-throttle and fans are enjoying all the non-stop footballing action. Nepal has already registered a thumping 2-0 win over Bangladesh in its opening group match. Two solid headers from Anil Gurung and Bharat Khawas in the first half were good enough to seal the victory for Nepal. This emphatic win over a strong team has established Nepal as a major contender for the title. With the games being held in home ground and a sparkling home support, Nepal has a very good chance of making to the knock out rounds.

In the group rounds, Nepal will next face Pakistan on 3rd September. Pakistan, having lost its opening game to India, will need to win this game to keep its hopes of making to semifinals alive. And then on September 5th, Nepal will be up against the defending champions India for its final group match. A single win in these remaining two games will ensure Nepal’s position in the semifinals.
