The mobile revolution has touched the lives of individuals residing in different corners of the world in social, economic and cultural aspects. mBillionth is such a platform that explores the potentiality in mobile and telecom industry in South East Asia. It covers 8 countries that include Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. Further, it recognizes and honors excellence in mobile communications across South Asia. This year, mBillionth is entering into its 5th year of recognizing the best practices for social development via Mobile as a first screen.

In the present context, people work and socialize their life through cell phones. The reason to increasing mobile penetration is the accessibility and reliability that lies within the mobile and telecom industry. Realizing this, mBillionth has been devoted to raising a common ground where all the mobile and telecom industries in South Asia fall together. This common platform to acknowledge the number of mobile and telecom industries has given rise to a sense of competition between these industries in regional and international level. As a result, it has given these industries a chance to sharpen themselves and flourish innovatively.

mBillionth has listed various categories to recognize and honor the excellence in mobile and telecom industry across South Asia. The categories include: m-Business & Commerce, m-Education & Learning, m-Culture & Heritage, m-Agriculture & Ecology, m-Health, m-Travel & Tourism, m-News & Journalism, m-Entertainment, m-Governance, m-Women & Children, m-Inclusion.
