With 87.71 percent success rate of the students in SLC, Bhaktapur district has topped with highest pass rate for SLC this year. According to Rama Kanta Sharma, the District Education Officer, the target was set for 88 percent pass rate. Total 4,658 secured pass marks out of 5,309 SLC examinees.
Mustang district having the least number of SLC students (116) has secured second highest pass rate with 86.56 percent. Whereas Lalitpur district was third with 86.32 percent students passing the SLC exam. Similarly, Kathmandu came fourth with 85.9 percent according to OCE.
The highest number of SLC students were from Kathmandu district, total 32,579 SLC students and 26,985 students have passed. Khotang district has performed the poorest with only 16.45 percent pass rate; only 601 students passed out of 3,653 examinees.
The Examinations Controller Bishnu Bahadur Dware mentioned that the second lowest pass rate was from Dailekh district; 934 students out of 4,664 students made through SLC. Some other districts that performed poor were Salyan and Saptari districts with 20.68 and 21.38 pass percent.
Dware added that this year out of 9,400 schools that participated in SLC exam, 2 percent got nil results meaning that there was no record of students passing SLC from these 229 schools. 26 schools among them are private run and 7 are located inside Kathmandu valley. And if we gauge at the last year data, schools with nil result were 331.
