Global Game Jam is just round the corner. It is a prodigious opportunity for gaming committees looking for boost and exposure. It is being organized for the first time in Nepal by LOCUS- an independent student committee of Pulchowk Engineering Campus, involving members from different streams of engineering.
Global Game Jam is an international game jam that promotes creativity, collaboration and experimentation.
The participants are required to construct gaming apps over the course of 48 hours.
The first Global Game Jam was held from January 30 – February 1, 2009, at 53 locations across the globe. During the jam, 1650 participants created 370 games. In January 2014, GGJ generated teams in 485 sites in 73 countries, who over the course of one weekend created 4,289 games.
“By being a part of the Global Game Jam community, Nepal and its game developers will get a chance to be established in the ever expanding game industry.”, said an exuberant Anish Parajuli, the event coordinator of GGJ 2016. “That’s the vision I had when I thought of organizing Nepal’s very first Global Game Jam.” He added.
The “Global Game Jam: Nepal” is an extraordinary event which aims to provide gaming communities in Nepal with a platform for exposure and promotion.
